The Map is an item added by Vanilla Minecraft. Maps permit a visual overhead of the surface terrain. Maps can be zoomed out to permit for a larger area than the default 128 by 128 blocks.

Maps can be zoomed out up to 4 times using the above recipe. Each time this is done, it increases the map amount by a factor of 2.

Cloning[]

Maps can be duplicated by placing a map with an empty map in a crafting grid to get two of the same map. Be careful as shift-clicking the cloned maps may make it lose its information.
Bugs[]
- When shift-clicking a map from a crafting grid, it may lose its information and may waste materials.
